4th Grade - Aerial Perspective

By Erika S.

Aerial perspective or atmospheric perspective, refers to how the atmosphere changes the way we see objects when viewed from a distance.  4th graders looked at a series of landscape photographs that demonstrate aerial perspective.  They noticed that the mountains and trees that are farthest away, also have the lightest values of color.  Students were asked to mix and layer at least five different values of a chosen color in order to create a background for a silhouette collage with aerial perspective.
