Second grade has been learning about the work of Brazilian-American artist Romero Britto
in art class. Students described Britto as a silkscreen artist who
"paints animals, people, fish, and abstract shapes. He breaks objects
into smaller shapes, outlines them with black, and fills each shape with
bright colors and patterns." According to the second graders, "Britto
makes happy pictures and sculptures that pop out at you!"
Students used tempera paint to create giant stuffed paper sculptures inspired by the work of Romero Britto.
